Bookkeeper Cert Prep The credential atlas

Eligibility & all-in cost checker

Quick answer

Do I already qualify for a bookkeeping credential, and what will it really cost?

Pick a target credential and your current experience, education, and any credentials you already hold. This tool reads the answer straight from each body's own published eligibility rule and itemizes the dated first-year and three-year all-in cost, not just the headline exam fee. It runs in your browser; nothing you select leaves your device.

How the read is built

Eligibility is read directly from the target credential's own published rule (see cred-matrix.json's eligibility field, every cell dated and sourced on the comparison page). AIPB's Certified Bookkeeper (CB) designation gates on roughly 2 years' full-time experience or 3,000 hours part-time/freelance, within 3 years of passing the exam; your experience band is matched against that threshold. NACPB's Certified Public Bookkeeper (CPB) license and Intuit Academy Bookkeeping both have open enrollment: neither sets an independent minimum prior experience or education requirement, so both read as "qualifies" regardless of your experience band, though NACPB's license still requires completing its full year-long program, supervised experience included. Cost is the itemized exam or program fee, membership (if any), and recertification, then the first-year and three-year all-in totals AIPB and NACPB each publish or that this site computes from their own published line items.
